The unknown perpetrators of the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall were armed with Kalashnikov assault rifles, according to a video published by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
The video from the Investigative Committee shows a tuned Kalashnikov assault rifle painted over with yellow paint. Also, according to the video, a large amount of ammunition was found at the scene.
Moscow police are searching for a white Renault car with Tver licence plates 668 UN 69. This was reported by a source of Izvestia on the night of 23 March.
“In connection with the terrorist attack, Moscow police are looking for a Renault car with Tver numbers,” he said.
Anti-terror experts spoke to Izvestia and suggested that the terrorist attack had been prepared for more than one day.
The attackers were confidently orientated in “Crocus”, most likely, they studied the security system in advance and thought over escape routes. That’s why the guards who could have resisted were shot first,” the expert said.
Based on the video of eyewitnesses, he drew attention to the fact that “the attackers had serious shooting training and, perhaps, experience of fighting in a small group – they moved professionally, did not block each other’s sectors of fire, fired in short bursts”.
