“Games of the Future” 2024 in Kazan

The world’s first high-tech “Games of the Future”, which will combine sports disciplines in the real and virtual world, will be held in February 2024 in the capital of Tatarstan.

The competition kicked off on Monday and the opening ceremony will take place today, where thousands of international guests, Vladimir Putin and at least five other heads of state along with dozens of foreign ministers are expected. All this emphasises the special status given to the new Games in Russia.

Representatives of 107 countries will gather in Kazan for the Games of the Future. Representatives of so many countries have agreed to come to Kazan for the sake of new competitions in a difficult geopolitical environment. The competition will follow a club format – there will be no official national teams and no medal standings

In a short period of time, the Games of the Future has gone from a little-understood idea to one of the main events in Russia in 2024. The Games claim such a status, if only by virtue of their international status.

The number of some delegations has grown in recent days. If a week ago it was reported about 277 teams at the “Games of the Future”, now – about 286 with the same number of states. The national emphasis will still remain. According to our information, there will still be a procession of nations at the opening ceremony.

Hardly anyone will be surprised by the presence of China, India, Middle East, CIS and BRICS countries, as well as Latin America and Africa in the list of participants of the Games of the Future. What about France, Germany, Portugal, Spain and Italy? Or Australia and South Korea? Finally, the United States and Canada? How did they agree to go to the tournament?

Alexander Lukashenko (Belarus), Kasym-Jomart Tokayev (Kazakhstan), Sadyr Zhaparov (Kyrgyzstan), Emomali Rakhmon (Tajikistan) and Shavkat Mirziyoyev (Uzbekistan) are expected to appear at the opening ceremony of the Games of the Future

In fact, all leaders of the CIS countries will gather in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, with the exception of Armenia, Moldova and, of course, Ukraine.

President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov has already arrived in Kazan.

Delegations from 18 countries are waiting in Kazan. The Chinese delegation will be headed by Zhang Jiasheng, deputy head of the State Administration of Culture and Sports. From Cuba will come Minister of Sport Osvaldo Vento, from North Korea – Deputy Minister of Sport Kwang Hyok, from the UAE – Minister of Education Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi. Indonesia will be represented by Minister of Sport and Youth Dito Ariotejo, while Afghanistan will be represented by Chairman of the Afghan National Olympic Committee Ahmadullah Wasik.

Of course, Vladimir Putin is expected to appear in Kazan. The whole intrigue is how long the Russian president will stay in Kazan. There are predictions that he will stay in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan for one day and will attend the fijatal hockey matches and the all-star game featuring Ilya Kovalchuk and Danis Zaripov on the 22nd. There are also hopes that Putin will come to Kazan again on 3 March for the closing ceremony of the Games of the Future.

Like other major tournaments, the Games of the Future will have a large-scale opening ceremony.
