Biden said his father survived the Hamas attack on Israel on 7 October
US President Joe Biden told the White House how the Hamas attack in Israel on 7 October was survived by his father.
“After 7 October, my father … My father went back to his kibbutz to salvage what was left of his house,” Biden said at the White House, congratulating Jews on Hanukkah.
The 85-year-old US president told the story of a man who lost his son in the attack, mistakenly calling him “my father”, dropping the pronoun in the process.
Biden made the disclaimer many times, often caused by misreading it from a teleprompter. The US president’s father died in 2002.
