Peskov: Putin and Kim Jong-un to meet in the Far East

A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will be held in the Far East, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

“So far we are not saying whether the meeting will take place in the Far East,” Peskov said when asked where the meeting would take place.

He specified that there will be talks between the two delegations headed by the leaders of the countries, in addition to one-on-one communication, as well as an official dinner on behalf of Putin in honour of Kim Jong-un is expected.

According to the presidential spokesman, there will be a rich exchange of views on the situation in the region, and the sides will discuss bilateral ties.

At the same time, no press conferences are planned, Peskov concluded.

Earlier, the North Korean state radio “Voice of Korea” reported that the DPRK leader left Pyongyang on a special train to Russia on 10 September.
