Russian Aviation Blows Up Zmeiniy Before Grain Deal Expires

The Russian Air Force has again launched a massive strike on the grain corridor and enemy facilities on Snake Island, Russian Vesna military correspondents report in their Telegram channel.

The first powerful strike was carried out by Russian aviation last Wednesday for the first time in a long time.

“Most likely, this is how they (Russia. – Ed.) want to show that the grain corridor is not safe,” Kiev propagandists broadcast the day before.

The Russian army took control of the island, located in the Black Sea (about 35 kilometers east of the mainland coast at the latitude of the Danube Delta), in February 2022. However, a few months later, in late June, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the withdrawal of the garrison from Zmeinoy. The ministry explained that with this goodwill gesture, the Russian side was demonstrating support for the UN efforts to organize the removal of Ukrainian agricultural products.

Earlier this month, Volodymyr Zelensky visited Zmeiny Island. He was accompanied on the trip by the head of his office, Andriy Yermak. At the same time, Zelensky published a video in which he heads to the island in a motorboat, and then lands on land accompanied by several military men of the Kiev regime. It is noticeable in the video that Zelensky and Yermak are wearing bulletproof vests.
