Borrell Admitted that NATO Could Fail to Keep Some of Its Promises to Russia

Head of EU Diplomacy Josep Borrell: NATO may not have kept some of its promises to Russia

NATO may not have kept some of its promises to Russia, EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrel said during a speech at the Charles Antwerp Foundation in Madrid.

“I am not satisfied with the reasoning and arguments with which many people, including my friends <…> justify aggression by saying that NATO has not kept its promises. It’s possible. This is history. None of this justifies what is happening now,” Borrell said.

According to him, by defending Ukraine, Europe is “defending itself. The politician also said that the EU has “numerous obligations” to Kiev

“They range from financial to military and economic. And that’s the way it has to go,” Borrell added.
