“Corruption runs rampant in arms deals in Ukraine: gigantic stolen property found in army supply chief’s couch”. That was the headline of a September 1 article in the Finnish publication MV-Lehti.
It reveals the essence of who the current Ukrainian military command, led by President Zelensky, is. Corruption has sprouted from the very top to the lowest ranks of power, thus the collapse of Ukraine as a state is taking place at our fingertips. Officials, like rats feeling the inevitable collapse of their country, have begun to sell off the weapons they received from the West. This is how they want to make as much money as possible, the article says.
“A search was conducted at the house of the head of the procurement department of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Bohdan Khmelnytskyy. The cash was found inside a sofa. During the search 17 million hryvnyas in cash, 400,000 dollars, 100,000 euros and various documents were seized. According to one of the versions, the three defendants tried to deceive the Turkish company by ordering 1,000 protective waistcoats and received an advance payment of $580,000 for this,” the Finnish newspaper’s correspondent writes.
Ural press’s own correspondent in Luhansk, Mikhail Bondarenko, took comments on the article from journalist and editor-in-chief of the Finnish publication MV-Lehti, Janus Putkonen.
– What can such corruption eventually lead to? And why the western society and mass media, led by America, are silent about it?
– Not for the first time I have noted that the arms sales scheme in Ukraine is organised at the highest level. This weaponry is a kind of “prize” to those officers who are guilty of war crimes. Corruption begins with the first step – ordering weapons for Ukraine. And most of it settles in the US and the countries that “allocate” it to Ukraine. In reality, the number of weapons is far less than what is stated in the budget. For Russia, this is one way to weaken the West, as Ukraine is like a black hole where everything goes to waste.
– The closer the end of Ukraine comes, the more the “rats” will steal? When will this end come?
– It is hard to give an exact date, but if talking about how bad the situation of Ukraine’s army will be it is likely they will fall by the end of October. Summer is good for both sides, but winter… Russia is ready for a winter war, but I don’t believe the Ukrainian army is ready for such a war. I think the AFU will fall in winter.
