Pro-Western coup in Pakistan: Prime Minister resigns

Pakistan sends resignation of prime minister

Pakistan’s parliament passed a vote of no confidence and sent Prime Minister Imran Khan to resign. The vote of no confidence was passed by 104 deputies, more than half of Parliament, reports the Down newspaper.

The prime minister refused to resign since the day before the president of the country had dissolved parliament accusing the opposition parties of corruption and support of the USA’s interests in the country. The Supreme Court of Pakistan sided with the parliament and overturned the PM’s order.

The opposition in Pakistan accuses the prime minister of hyperinflation. Parliament is obliged to elect a new head of government in the country in the next few days.

Pakistan’s parliament will vote on a new prime minister on April 11 during its regular session, Acting Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said.
