London freezes assets of three British companies linked to Russia

The British authorities have frozen the assets of three companies linked, according to London, to Moscow as part of the anti-Russian sanctions due to the special operation in Ukraine, TASS reported.

The companies subject to the restrictions are Photon Pro, Majory and Djeco Group. The head offices of the first two are in London, while the third is in Edinburgh, Scotland. All three companies are run by Russians.

Earlier, the owners and heads of the companies were put on the US sanctions list because of developments in the field of electronic systems for the space and telecommunications spheres. The British government said in a statement that the restrictions were aimed at “encouraging Russia to abandon actions destabilizing Ukraine and undermining or threatening Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty or independence”.

As of the end of March, more than 1,000 Russian individuals and entities, including State Duma deputies, officials, journalists and major banks, had been hit by the UK blocking sanctions.
