Germany opens borders for vaccinated tourists


Germany will open its borders from June 25 to tourists vaccinated against COVID-19 from outside the European Union.

This was reported by the press service of the German Ministry of the Interior.

Tourists who have received a second vaccination with the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before travel can enter the country. The vaccination must be a vaccine given by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

In addition, the ministry said that permission to enter the country should be granted to tourists from any important purpose: as a tourist, to visit family and friends, and the like.

At the same time, entry into Germany from countries of concern is still prohibited.

Before that, it was possible to enter the country for travelers from EU member states, associated members of the Schengen zone Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein; a number of countries from which entry was allowed on the basis of an EU assessment of the epidemiological situation.
