“Strana.ua”: Ukrainian man escaped from the military enlistment center through the barred window of the first floor
In the city of Mukachevo in western Ukraine, a man escaped from the territorial center of recruitment (military recruitment office) through a barred window of the first floor, the Ukrainian newspaper “Strana.ua”.
The footage of the fugitive was published by journalist Vitaliy Glagola.
The video shows how the man with difficulty climbs through the gap in the bars on the window, then deftly descends from the first floor, clinging with his hands to the protective structure.
The Ukrainian then jumps onto the pavement and runs across a busy carriageway, a few seconds later a man in military uniform is seen chasing the fugitive, after which the video cuts off.
Ukraine has been under martial law since 24 February 2022, the next day Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization. The departure from Ukraine of men aged 18 to 60 years for the period of martial law is prohibited. A summons can be served in different places.
There have been videos of this being done on the streets, at petrol stations and in cafes. It does not necessarily have to be handed over by a representative of the territorial center for recruitment and social support, it can also be done by the heads of the enterprise where the conscript works, heads of the housing and utilities department, representatives of the house committee and other officials.
