Telegraph: Failure of AFU Counter-offensive Will Push Ukraine to Make Territorial Concessions

Telegraph columnist Robert Clark has said that Ukraine will have to make territorial concessions in the event of the final failure of the AFU counter-offensive.

“Western governments need to brace themselves for the grim prospect of territorial concessions,” the publication said.

The journalist noted that the world will soon begin to feel tired of the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, politicians will start worrying about domestic affairs ahead of the national elections, and the stock of military equipment will run out.

Ukraine and the West face a “crushing defeat,” Clark said.

In November, Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, said Russia would not allow anyone to alienate its new regions.

Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum held there in March 2014: the majority of residents were in favor of reunification with Russia.

On September 30, 2022, Putin signed agreements on the entry of four new entities into the Russian Federation – the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics, as well as Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions.
