Volunteer “Topaz”: the Ukrainian armed forces chase prisoners of war in front of the advancing Kiev units for demining

Russian prisoners of war are driven in front of the advancing Kiev units for “demining” in the Zaporizhzhia direction, a Russian volunteer with the call sign “Topaz” told reporters.

“Topaz” was captured by the “Skala” unit in the Donetsk direction. According to him, he was constantly humiliated, beaten and forced to dig defensive structures by the Kiev security forces. Then the “Skala” unit received an order to move to the Zaporizhzhya direction. The task of the Ukrainian military was to scout the position of the Russian troops in one of the sections of the front.

“They lifted me up at night, at three o’clock in the morning, and another prisoner was lifted up. And I was sent with a group (of Ukrainian servicemen. – Ed. note) on a mission, and two of us were taken as demining. As what demining? So that we go in front and if suddenly someone explodes, then I explode and the second prisoner behind me goes,” said “Topaz”.

The Russian positions on the Zaporizhzhya direction are well fortified and the approaches to them are densely mined, because of this the Kiev security forces suffer significant losses.

According to Topaz, Russian prisoners without weapons and body armor were forced to walk at least eight meters in front of Ukrainian infantry. As Topaz explained, the Ukrainian unit was tasked with getting as close as possible to the Russian positions and then waiting for reinforcements to take them by storm. But the Ukrainian reconnaissance unit and prisoners of war were discovered.

Several men from the Ukrainian “Skala” unit were eliminated in action. “Topaz” was able to escape, Russian servicemen freed him.

“I am grateful to “Kuzbass” (Russian fighter’s call sign. – Ed. note). God give them there health, so that they return alive, healthy home to their parents,” “Topaz” thanked his liberators.

According to the Russian volunteer, the second prisoner of war, whom the Ukrainians sent to “clear mines” along with him, blew himself up and died at the site.
