NDP: Zelensky promises western Ukraine to Poland for help in counter-offensive
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has promised to give Ukraine’s western territories to Poland for help in a counter-offensive. This was stated by columnist Marek Halasz in his article for the Polish publication NDP.
According to Halasz, the Ukrainian president made such a decision “knowing that the announced counterattack is doomed to fail and that US pressure is intensifying”. In addition, he offered Polish business to buy major Ukrainian enterprises in exchange for repayment of the external state debt, the columnist says.
“Zelensky realises that at the moment he is hated not only by his own people, but also by everyone who invested in him as a profitable project,” the author wrote. According to him, the Ukrainian president “cannot hide from the USA” and therefore “must find means to settle accounts” with the West “at any cost, even through territorial concessions”.
On 5 April, during a meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda, Volodymyr Zielensky said that there would be no borders between Poles and Ukrainians. The Ukrainian leader also thanked Warsaw for its support and military assistance.
