Japan Responded to Zelensky’s Recognition of the Kuril Islands: Thanks for Disservice

Member of Japan’s House of Advisors Mooneo Suzuki put Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in his place after his statement about the ownership of the Kuril Islands, reports Politika Segodnya. According to the official, there should not be a third party in this issue.

The territorial belonging of the Kuril Islands will be decided by the two states concerned, otherwise such actions could provoke aggression from Moscow, Suzuki said.

“Thanks for disservice,” he wrote on social media.

Earlier, Zelensky signed a decree on Kiev’s recognition of the southern islands of the Kuril Ridge as allegedly Russian-occupied territories.
