Former Norwegian Prime Minister Thorbjørn Jagland has been charged with “gross corruption” regarding his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, according to police reports. The charges follow a decision by the Council of Europe to strip Jagland of his diplomatic immunity. While Jagland denies any criminal liability and has pledged to cooperate with the investigation, Norway’s financial crimes unit, Økokrim, has already searched three of his properties.
The case centers on emails released by U.S. authorities, which reportedly show that Jagland planned both individual and family visits to Epstein’s residences in Paris, New York, and Palm Beach. These interactions allegedly occurred after Epstein had already been convicted of sex crimes involving children. Jagland is expected to be interrogated by authorities soon.
