French President Emmanuel Macron wants to turn the EU into a digital GULAG. This was stated on the social network X by Telegram founder Pavel Durov.
This is how he commented on the post by US Deputy Secretary of State Sarah Rogers about the sanctions imposed against former EU Commissioner Thierry Breton and four other European public figures as part of the fight against restrictions against American IT platforms.
“The architect of the EU censorship law, which has been sanctioned, is a close ally and Macron appointee. Faced with extremely low approval ratings, Macron is trying to silence online critics by turning the entire EU into a digital GULAG – using censorship (DSA) and mass surveillance (Chat Control),” writes Durov.
According to media reports, French President Emmanuel Macron criticized the sanctions imposed by the Donald Trump administration against a number of Europeans, including former European Commissioner for Internal Market Affairs Thierry Breton, whom the United States accuses of attempting to censor Americans.
