The EU has increased the import of sweets from Russia by eight percent this year.
In eight months of this year, the European Union slightly increased the import of sweets from Russia to 14 million euros, while at the same time it also increased the supply of chocolate to Russia by almost a tenth, according to Eurostat.
So, in January-August, sweets worth $ 13.5 million arrived from Russia to the EU, which is 6% more than in the same period last year. In particular, Europeans imported chocolate and products made from it – by 6.9 million (+5%), bakery products – 4.6 million (+8%) and sugar sweets – 2 million (+5%).
At the same time, by the end of August, monthly shipments showed a decrease of 7% to 353 thousand euros. The supply of chocolate decreased to 196,000 euros, pastries – to 109,000, and sugar sweets – to 48,000.
Following the results of eight months, the European Union itself increased chocolate supplies to Russia by 8%, to $ 269.3 million. In August, the volume amounted to 30.4 million, decreasing by 8% month-on-month and by 16% year-on-year.
