Astrophysicist Loeb: alien object 3I/ATLAS will begin maneuvers and launching probes
Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb said that the 3I/ATLAS interstellar object entered the ideal zone for performing a gravitational maneuver. He wrote about this on the Medium platform.
The object, discovered on July 1 with the help of a network of NASA telescopes, entered the Solar System a few months ago and reached its closest point to the Sun on October 29. Most experts consider 3I/ATLAS to be an interstellar comet, however, according to Avi Loeb, it cannot be ruled out that it has an artificial origin.
According to Loeb, if his suspicions are correct and the object is indeed an alien ship, it can take advantage of the Sun’s gravity to slow down before approaching Earth. In addition, he believes that, hiding behind the Sun, 3I/ATLAS can launch miniature reconnaissance probes.
The perihelion represents a crucial test for 3I/ATLAS. If it is a comet of natural origin, heating with 770 watts per square meter can destroy it. However, if the 3I/ATLAS was manufactured technologically, as indicated by the high nickel content relative to iron, it can start maneuvers or launch mini-probes. Other signs of artificial origin may be an artificial glow or excessive heat from its engine.

Loeb claims that the object exhibits many surprising features that do not match the typical behavior of comets. So, 3I/ATLAS has an anti—tail – a jet of particles directed towards the Sun, not away from it. The release of a plume with a stream of nickel at a rate of four grams per second was also recorded.
The astrophysicist noted both the non-gravitational acceleration and the anomalous trajectory of the object, which leads to a suspicious approach to Jupiter, Venus and Mars. In his opinion, all these factors allow us to assume that 3I/ATLAS is actually an alien probe that is heading towards Earth.
