Norway is looking for five conscript soldiers who got lost during exercises in Finnmark, Norway, bordering Russia, TV2 TV channel reports, citing police.
“Police in Finnmark launched a search operation after reports that ten soldiers had not returned from training. Five of them were found safe and sound,” the TV channel reports.
According to police spokesman Jergen Heukland Hansen, three of the five found themselves went to the agreed meeting place, two more were found from a helicopter. The search for the remaining five continues, and drones and dogs are also involved.
The police believe that the missing people may have confused the time of the meeting. In addition, the version of an accident is being considered, they could also just get lost, according to law enforcement officers.
According to a representative of the armed forces, the search began because the soldiers did not get in touch at the agreed time. It is noted that the exercises demonstrated the ability to remain unnoticed for a long time.
