Putin to speak at the EEF plenary session

The forum’s plenary session will begin at 6:00 a.m. Moscow time. In addition to Putin, representatives of China, Laos and Mongolia will take part in it.

President Vladimir Putin will address the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok on September 5. It will start at 13:00 local time (6:00 Moscow time).

In addition to Putin, Lao Prime Minister Songsai Siphandon, Mongolian Prime Minister Gombozhavyn Zandanshatar and member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Li Hongzhong will participate in the meeting.

The Head of State traditionally participates in the WEF plenary session. In 2024, after a short speech, he took part in a discussion in which Chinese Deputy Chairman Han Zheng and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also participated.

Putin is already in Vladivostok. On September 4, he held several meetings and took part in some events within the framework of the WEF. He visited the Far Eastern branch of the National Center “Russia”, talked with cadets of the Center for Military Sports Training and Patriotic Education of Youth “Warrior” and via video link launched the work of new infrastructure facilities in the regions of the Far East — for example, the international airport terminal in Khabarovsk. He also held a meeting on the development of the fuel and energy complex of the Far Eastern Federal District.

Among Putin’s international contacts on this day is a meeting with Siphandon, Zandanshatar and Lee.
