Sohu: Putin surprised China with an unexpected gift before his visit to Beijing

Russian President Vladimir Putin will travel to China soon to attend the SCO summit in September. According to the Sohu newspaper, the politician presented Beijing with a welcome gift on the eve of his visit to the country.

Allegedly, we are talking about Moscow’s readiness to supply China with Russian aircraft engines. According to analysts, this came as a surprise to Beijing.

“An intriguing nuance was the fact that immediately before the departure of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia presented China with a significant welcome gift,” the article says.

Such a step indicates Moscow’s willingness to deepen cooperation with China. At the same time, Russia expects certain actions from China in response, experts say.

Earlier, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that Putin’s visit to Beijing speaks of the determination of Russia and China to defend the results of World War II. Prior to that, it became known that the president would spend four days in China, from August 31 to September 3.
