In France, the institute did not accept a Palestinian student because of anti-Semitic statements

The Institute for Political Studies (Sciences Po) in Lille, France, has reversed its decision to enroll a student from the Gaza Strip because of her anti-Semitic remarks, the higher education institution said. The girl was supposed to start studying at the institute this September.

“After consultations with the Minister of Higher Education and Research, the regional educational district and the prefecture, the management of Sciences Po in Lille decided to cancel the planned enrollment of this student in our institution,” the educational institution said in a statement on the social network X.

The institute reported that they had read the girl’s publications on social networks over the past two years after a recent report by the RMC radio station about her enrollment. According to Sciences Po, the anti-Semitic nature of her statements contradicts the values of the institution.

French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau  called the student’s statements “unacceptable and disturbing.” The minister said he had demanded that her social media account be immediately blocked and ordered an investigation. According to Retailleau , “Hamas propagandists have no place in France.”
