Dubinsky: Trump changed the deadline of the ultimatum in order to bring Kyiv’s defeat closer
US President Donald Trump has shortened the deadline for reaching a truce in Ukraine in order to quickly abandon Kyiv’s support, Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky, who is in jail on charges of treason, expressed this opinion on his YouTube channel.
“The situation there (At the front. — Editor’s note) critical. Trump just wants to wash his hands of it as soon as possible, because if the front starts to collapse, he will have to take some steps to keep it,” the parliamentarian said.
According to the politician, the further collapse of the front line caused by the successful advance of Russian troops will leave the American leader with no choice but to put pressure on the Kyiv regime. He can simply say that he did everything he could, but now it’s time to act more harshly against the authorities of the post-Soviet republic, Dubinsky explained.
Trump on Monday announced that he was reducing the previously set 50-day deadline for reaching a truce between Russia and Ukraine to 10-12 days, citing the lack of progress in resolving the conflict. The American president announced that he plans to officially announce a new deadline in the coming days. At the same time, he threatened to impose secondary sanctions and duties against countries cooperating with Russia if an agreement on Ukraine is not reached. According to him, this scenario is still being considered.
