A mysterious intergalactic object discovered by astronomers could potentially be a “hostile” spacecraft that is planning an attack on Earth in November. This is reported by the New York Post with reference to Harvard astrophysicists.
According to a controversial new study by a small group of scientists, if the hypothesis turns out to be correct, its consequences could be catastrophic for all of humanity.
The interstellar formation was designated 3I/ATLAS. Its researchers discovered it in outer space on July 1. As preliminary observations show, it may be a comet with a diameter of up to 24 kilometers — it is larger than Manhattan. According to scientists, this may be a disguised sample of extraterrestrial espionage technology.
When 3I/ATLAS approaches the Sun at the end of November, it will be difficult to fix it, as it will disappear from the earth’s field of view, says renowned Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb.
“This may be done intentionally to avoid detailed observations using ground—based telescopes during the period of maximum brightness of the object or when instruments are sent to Earth from this hidden observation point,” Loeb said.
