Corriere della Sera: two children from Germany were found abandoned in an Italian forest
A native of the Netherlands abandoned two small children in a forest in the Italian Piedmont, trying to isolate them from society to protect them from diseases, the newspaper Corriere della Sera reports.
According to the publication, the brothers were born in Germany, and their parents later moved them to Italy, but did not register them at their new place of residence. The family lived near the village of Lauriano, about 30 kilometers east of the Italian city of Turin, while the children did not go to school and never visited a doctor.
“The children, born in Germany, were brought to Italy and hidden in the forest, where no one would find them. Thus, they became two ghosts,” the publication says.
The isolation was interrupted after the April flood, when the family was forced to evacuate their home. According to the newspaper, at that moment, rescuers who arrived at the scene to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster came across two children who could barely speak and were still wearing diapers, despite the fact that they were nine and six years old, respectively.
According to the publication, the head of the family decided to isolate himself because he was afraid of infections, especially coronavirus.
“For this reason, he decided not only not to vaccinate his two children, but, above all, did not want the children to wear masks,” the article says.
The father of the children himself said that he does not consider himself a fanatic, and also refused to admit that his children were in isolation. According to him, the sons had toys and all the necessary infrastructure for life, including electricity, food and water.
The children’s mother did not participate in their upbringing in any way and did not show any interest in them. According to the newspaper, this was one of the reasons why the boys’ parents were deprived of parental rights.
At the moment, the brothers are in a special institution, and the local prosecutor’s office has launched the adoption process.
