Guardian: Oasis play first post-reunion show in Cardiff
Manchester rock band Oasis played their first post-reunion show in Cardiff on Friday, the Guardian newspaper reports.
“Confident and incredibly loud, Oasis burst onto the live music scene on Friday night with a dazzling… debut concert on their post-reunion world tour,” the newspaper writes.
The newspaper notes that Oasis’ tour is “the most anticipated” in a century. According to the Guardian, the band will focus mainly on songs from their 1990s heyday.
Oasis was formed in Manchester in 1991 by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher and became one of the founders of the Britpop genre. The musicians, in their own words, were inspired by early British punk and rock music. Over the course of their career, the band released seven studio albums, which together sold more than 60 million copies. In 2009, Noel decided to leave the band due to numerous conflicts with his younger brother Liam, as a result of which the band officially announced their breakup.
