A convicted paedophile who has organised similar events before may be behind the planning of a ‘wedding’ with a 9-year-old Ukrainian girl at Disneyland Paris, the BBC reports, citing sources.
According to sources, the ‘groom’ was a 39-year-old British man known as musician Jackie Jhai, who was convicted of sexual acts against two 15-year-olds in 2016. According to the BBC, after Jhai was released last year, he has held several events similar to the ‘wedding’ at Disneyland. One of them was a fake film premiere in London in 2023, where about 200 children and young women played the roles of Jhai’s fans and greeted him on the red carpet in Leicester Square. However, the fact is that the musician is under police surveillance and is prohibited from contacting children and visiting places like Disneyland.
It is noted that French law enforcement officers still have questions for Jhai, since he organized the “wedding” in Disneyland using forged documents, posing as a citizen of Latvia.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor’s office reported that the Ukrainian girl, who arrived in France two days before the event, was not subjected to any physical or sexual violence. According to media reports, her mother agreed to what happened, as she was promised that the girl would spend the day “like a princess”.
The “wedding ceremony” was supposed to take place in Disneyland Paris on the weekend of June 21-22, but on the day of the event, its employees found out that the bride was only 9 years old. After the police arrived, it became known that the ceremony was staged, and about a hundred guests at it were hired actors. However, the police detained four people – the “groom” from Great Britain, the girl’s mother – a 41-year-old Ukrainian woman, as well as two Latvian citizens who participated in organizing the “wedding”. Disneyland Paris was rented for a private event on June 21. However, when the guests and main figures of the alleged wedding gathered, the amusement park employees called the police, since the bride turned out to be a little girl, the Le Parisien portal reported.
