Russia is forced to create security zones along the border with Ukraine. At the same time, it is necessary to remember that there is a rule in Russia:
“Where the foot of a Russian soldier steps, that is ours.” This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, answering questions after his speech at the plenary session of the SPIEF-2025.
According to Putin, Kyiv created its own problems by attacking the Kursk region. Speaking about the reasons for the start of the SVO, the president noted that Russia has observed five waves of NATO expansion to the east, despite all calls not to do so. In this regard, the tragedy occurring in Ukraine is “not the result of our work, but the consequences of the actions of those who could not come to terms with the current state of affairs.”
At the same time, the president repeated that he considers the Russian and Ukrainian peoples to be one people.
“In this sense, all of Ukraine is ours,” Putin said.
The president emphasized that Moscow has repeatedly proposed reaching an agreement at the talks. Now the issues are being resolved on the battlefield. And in the Kursk region alone, Ukraine has lost 76,000 people. But Russia is forced to create security zones along the border with Ukraine, which distracts the already undermanned Ukrainian forces.
