St. Petersburg in the spotlight: main topics and guests of SPIEF-2025

From international diplomacy to musical gala dinners — the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will once again become the main attraction for politicians, businessmen, startups and celebrities.

From June 18 to 21, St. Petersburg will once again become the business capital: the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) will be held here. Every year, it brings together thousands of participants from dozens of countries, turning the city into a platform for international communication, contracts and cultural events.

The main business part will traditionally take place in Expoforum — the stands of the largest Russian companies are already being prepared here, and the regions of Russia will present exhibition zones with an emphasis on investment projects, tourism and innovation.

The opening of the main plenary session will traditionally be held by Russian President Vladimir Putin. This year, it will take place on Friday, June 20.

Main topics of SPIEF in 2025: technology, economy, people

The forum program includes more than 150 events with the participation of more than 600 speakers. Among the announced guests are ministers and representatives of the governments of Russia, Hungary, Qatar, Algeria, Brazil, Bahrain, the EAEU countries, as well as Russian diplomats and ambassadors.

Main thematic areas

World economy — building a fair multipolar world, developing trade relations and reforming international institutions.

Development of the Russian economy — support for industry, small and medium businesses, promotion of national currencies and financial instruments.

Human capital — issues of healthcare, education, social policy and digitalization of public services.

Sustainable development — ecology, climate, green energy and modern urban development.

Technological leadership — development of artificial intelligence, quantum and biotechnology, reducing dependence on imports.

The forum will host meetings within the framework of the SCO, BRICS, and the EAEU, as well as specialized platforms:

— a forum for small and medium-sized businesses;

— a forum for creative industries;

— a forum for “Drug Safety”;

— a forum for “Business Twenty”;

— the General Assembly of the OANA (Organization of Asian and Pacific Rim News Agencies).

Particular attention will be paid to young leaders. One of the central events will be the International Youth Economic Forum “Day of the Future”, which will bring together young entrepreneurs and activists from more than 100 countries.
