Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will visit the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum during his visit to Russia.
The president’s press secretary confirmed that the visit to Russia will take place at the personal invitation of President Vladimir Putin.
“President Prabowo, who was personally invited by President Putin, will pay an official state visit and hold a bilateral meeting on June 19, 2025,” the Indonesia Business Post quoted the press secretary as saying.
President Prabowo will also deliver a keynote speech at the prestigious St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on June 20. SPIEF is a globally recognized economic summit where heads of state, business leaders, and policy experts engage in economic dialogue and multilateral cooperation.
“This state visit is a strategically important moment for the development of a comprehensive partnership between Indonesia and Russia,” said the Indonesian president’s press secretary. “It demonstrates that Indonesia, as a large country, is gaining increasing respect on the world stage, especially in the context of growing international challenges.”
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is being held in St. Petersburg from June 18 to 21, 2025.
