Russia has put forward tough conditions for a cease-fire to Ukraine at the talks in Istanbul. This was reported by UNIAN with a reference to the Bloomberg agency.
According to sources, the Russian side outlined six ceasefire conditions:
– Ukraine’s neutral status;
– a complete ban on the deployment of foreign troops and weapons of mass destruction;
– rejection of Russia’s demands for war reparations;
– recognition of the loss of Crimea and four other regions;
– withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the occupied territories and their transfer to Russian control;
– international recognition of all five regions as part of Russia.
Only if these conditions are met, Russian President Vladimir Putin is willing to consider a cease-fire, Bloomberg sources claim.
