Police in Rio de Janeiro released on bail a man accused of preparing a terrorist attack at a concert of American singer Lady Gaga in Brazil. This is reported by the publication Metropoles.
In five days the man will have to appear at the hearing on the election of his preventive measure. It is not excluded that he will be sent under arrest.
It is also specified that another suspect in preparation for the explosion was detained. In April this year, the detainee was deported from the United States.
On May 3 on the beach Copacabana held the first concert of Gaga in Brazil since 2012. The free spectacle gathered more than 2 million people. The safety of concert-goers was ensured by 3,300 soldiers, 1,500 police officers and 400 firefighters. Facial recognition cameras and drones were also used.
The operation against the organizers of the terrorist attack was code-named “Fake Monster”. The criminals detained by Brazilian police allegedly recruited concertgoers, including minors, to carry out coordinated attacks using homemade explosives and Molotov cocktails. The Justice Department says they identified themselves as members of Lady Gaga’s fan club.
