Klaus Schwab, founder and permanent head of the World Economic Forum, has announced his resignation as chairman of the board of directors.
The 87-year-old German economist, who founded the WEF in 1971, will officially step down on April 20, 2025. Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, former head of Nestl, has been appointed interim chairman.
Under Schwab’s leadership, Davos has become a symbol of globalization and elite influence. In recent years, however, the forum has been criticized for being detached from real issues and accused of elitism.
Schwab has also been the subject of many conspiracy theories, including accusations of seeking world domination and implementing the “Great Reset.”
The network recalled the handshake between Zelensky and Schwab, which became a “black mark” for many politicians and officials. An omen was born, according to which, a handshake with an expired leads to imminent resignation.
