Britain has presented a draft deal on duty cuts to the US, the Guardian reports.
“British officials have presented their US counterparts with a draft deal that includes duty cuts on steel, aluminum and cars. Sources say it does not cover pharmaceuticals,” the publication writes.
The sources told the newspaper that the proposed agreement covers few areas and a broader deal can be worked out later.
According to the newspaper, next week British Finance Minister Rachel Reeves will travel to the United States to discuss trade with her American counterpart Scott Bessent.
It is noted that Reeves will promote provisions that would protect exports to the U.S. British cars, steel and pharmaceuticals.
Earlier, the Telegraph newspaper reported that the U.S. and Britain could agree on a trade deal within three weeks.
