Journalist Bowes suggested that Kiev’s creation of space forces will be paid for by the EU
Irish journalist Chay Bowes asked an uncomfortable question in response to the statement of the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine about the creation of the space policy directorate, the corresponding post he published on his page in social network X.
“I assume the EU will pay for it?” – asked the journalist.
On the eve of the Ukrainian TV channel “Public”, referring to the Deputy Minister of defense Kateryna Chernogorenko, reported that the defense Department established the Department of space policy.
As noted in the publication, the ministry plans to become the main customer for space equipment, products and services in the country. By 2030 Ukraine wants to possess national satellites for defense purposes, as well as a system of air alerts and control of outer space.
Earlier in December, Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko complained in an interview with the Spanish newspaper Pais that Kiev was not even able to maintain the AFU. In late November, Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved Ukraine’s budget for 2025 with a deficit of more than 37.3 billion dollars. Kiev plans to cover the shortfall with the help of its Western partners.
