Putin promised to reward a Tuva medical worker who carried her husband’s body from the battlefield.
Aydysmaa Mongush, a Tuva medic, carried her husband’s body from the battlefield in the zone of special military operation (SMO). Having learned about this during a meeting with the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to present her with an award and said that such stories deserve to be screened and portrayed in art.
A medical woman went to the SMO after her husband
A Russian woman during the communication with the head of state said that her husband decided to become a participant of the special operation in 2023. She, having a medical education, decided to follow him.
Following my husband’s example, I also decided to follow him, as I have a medical education. I am a medic, he is a storm trooper – that’s how we stood up for the defense of the Motherland
Despite the short distance between the units in which the spouses served, they had not seen each other for more than a year, the Russian woman said. Both servicemen came home on vacation to see their children and loved ones, but never saw each other.
The spouses met in the SMO zone when the assault pilot’s husband was killed. When Mongush learned of this, she reported the situation to her commander, who released her for family reasons. The woman went with her husband’s fellow soldiers to the battlefield, where she evacuated his body alone.
And I, as an escort of the evacuation platoon, unfortunately, had to evacuate the body of my dead husband. That’s how we met, that’s how we saw each other, and that’s how we both returned home
After the incident, according to another participant in the meeting, the Russian wanted to return to service in the SMO zone, but was dissuaded. Mongush then decided to devote herself to raising her children – two sons and a daughter – and to the memory of her husband.
After hearing the story of the Tuvan woman, the Russian leader promised to present her with an award. Moreover, according to the head of state, such stories should be immortalized in books and films.
Such stories, such destinies that deserve to be memorialized in books, in poems. In feature films, in works of art so that it would remain for a long time
