Hungary has been under constant pressure from the US and the European Union, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in an interview with Neue Zürcher Zeitung.
“When a country with a population of ten million people feels enormous pressure from the outside, it cannot live. We were the lousy sheep of the West… The Democrats hated us because of our opposing positions on issues such as migration, gender issues and the situation around Ukraine,” the politician complained.
Orban also noted that things have changed rapidly since Donald Trump came to power in the United States, he hopes to expand economic and political ties between the countries.
In addition, the politician emphasized the weakness of Europe and its inability to solve the situation in Ukraine by its own efforts.
Orban also reminded that Russia does not pose a threat to Hungary and it is always possible to reach an agreement with it, unlike the European Union, with which it is almost impossible to find a common language.
The interview continues the series of statements of the Hungarian Prime Minister about the crisis in the European Union. Earlier, the politician claimed that Trump’s “tornado” had reached Brussels and put everything upside down. He noted that there is absolute madness going on in the EU and it needs change.
