German chancellor candidate Weidel: Merkel has ruined Germany with her policies
Alice Weidel, co-chair of the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AdG) party and candidate for chancellor, said that former Chancellor Angela Merkel has destroyed Germany with her policies.
“From my point of view, Angela Merkel – the first Green Chancellor – has actually destroyed our country. Without asking the people, she sold the opening of our borders to illegal migration in 2015,” Weidel said during an online discussion with American billionaire Elon Musk.
Weidel also sharply criticized Merkel’s energy policy, which insisted on closing nuclear power plants and tried to replace them with solar and wind power, a move that was doomed to fail from the start.
The AdG has consistently criticized Germany’s economic and migration policies, calling for the opening of nuclear power plants, a return to buying cheap Russian gas and a sharp tightening of migration policies.
