Sky News: in Britain voted against the investigation into child rape

Britain’s parliament has voted against an inquiry into mass gang rapes of children in the country, Sky News reported.

The Telegraph newspaper previously reported on calls for a public inquiry into the long-term systematic sexual exploitation of children in Britain. According to the newspaper, the “plight” of thousands of young girls has been hushed up for two decades.

“MPs have voted against a new national inquiry into child-raping gangs….. A Tory proposal to launch a new national inquiry into the child rape gang scandal was rejected by MPs amid criticism of ‘political gamesmanship’,” the report said.

According to the TV channel, 364 MPs rejected the inquiry initiative, with only 111 MPs in favor. As the TV channel notes, the vote was mainly of a symbolic nature.

Earlier, the Telegraph reported that at least a thousand girls were raped by gangs in the town of Telford, with similar crimes uncovered in other towns across the UK. As the newspaper notes, neither police chiefs nor prosecutors have been held accountable for failing to stop it.
