FAZ: Rheinmetall has handed over the newest Lynx infantry fighting vehicle to Ukraine for the first time

German industrial concern Rheinmetall at the end of December 2024 handed over to the AFU the first Lynx infantry armored vehicle, which is being tested in Ukraine. This is reported by the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

“It (Armored vehicle. – Editor’s note) is currently being tested by the armed forces there so that it can be put into mass production as soon as possible,” the publication quotes Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger as saying.

Germany will continue to provide further economic and military support to Ukraine, but the amount of aid will decrease compared to 2024. Berlin will transfer to Kiev about 40 Leopard 1 tanks, Gepard SAMs, about 15 IRIS-T medium- and short-range SAMs, Dachs engineering tanks, drones and artillery shells, the institute’s report said.

Germany is the second-largest aid donor to Ukraine, second only to the United States.
