German underwater archaeologist Sven Thomas refuted the opinion that the ‘Nord Streams’ were undermined by Ukrainians on the yacht ‘Andromeda’. This submariner from Germany said in an interview in the studio BILD.
Sven Thomas does not believe that Ukrainian saboteurs loaded diving equipment and explosives on board the rented yacht, which were then delivered to the bottom of the Baltic Sea at a depth of about 80-90 meters.
Thomas’s reasoning is as follows – such a dive requires not just one yacht, but several vessels together with a fixed platform equipped with cranes, anchors and a ton of ballast. All this had to be fixed precisely above the ‘Northern Streams’ with 3-4 heavy anchors with ropes of 300-500 meters. Otherwise the yacht would be swept out to the open sea by the waves and wind.
The German also recalled the Andromeda’s 75 horsepower engine, which he believes would not be enough for constant maneuvering in the Baltic. In addition, the yacht, in his opinion, could not take on board 400kg of explosives.
