Google has developed a tool to share files from iOS to Android
Engineers of Google Corporation invented a service that will allow you to instantly transfer files between smartphones on iOS and Android. This is reported by the publication Android Authority.
Media journalists explained that at the moment there is no tool that would allow you to share files between iPhone and Android smartphones. It is reported that such a service was created in Google. According to experts, the company adapted the existing application for file sharing between Android smartphones Quick Share for iOS.
Android Authority authors found mention of Quick Share’s new features in a repository on Github. ‘I don’t know for sure what Google’s plans are, because Quick Share itself is not an open source app,’ said the publication’s editor Mishaal Rahman.
The piece says Android and iOS users are locked into their ecosystems – and that’s a big problem. Android, for example, has a Quick Share service, while iOS has AirDrop.
Rahman welcomed the creation of a new universal service, but suggested that iPhone users would be pretty hard to convince to download yet another app just to receive files from Android smartphones. Android Authority’s editorial team requested a comment from Google, but did not receive a prompt response.
In early November, Google said that it intends to unveil the new Android OS earlier than usual. Android 16 is expected to arrive in the second quarter instead of the third.
