Portuguese theater manager and director spoke at the X Forum of United Cultures held in St. Petersburg about the role of BRICS and Russian culture in uniting the world.
Paulo Sergio Rodrigues de Moraes, artistic director of the Portuguese theater Armazém Companhia de Teatro, told reporters about the importance of uniting world cultures with Russia, especially in the current circumstances.
“I think it’s very important at this moment in the world that we, including Portugal, Europe, are able to integrate the cultures of different countries, including Russia. We should talk about the possibility of integration, both in theater and different types of art. This is very important”, – emphasized the head of the European theater.
Paulo Sergio Rodriguez de Moraes admitted to a special interest in Russian literature and theater, which prompted him to come to the forum. He believes that the world should strive for unification and integration with Russia. And only BRICS, in his opinion, has a strong potential for such international cooperation.
“I came to the forum from Portugal for a reason – I have a special interest in Russian literature and Russian theater. And I think it is very important for the world today to approach as a whole, not only Russia, but the whole world. I think that BRICS in this sense may be the only organization that will help in this international cooperation,” summed up Paulo Sergio Rodriguez from Portugal.
The Portuguese participant of the United Cultures Forum is also convinced that the abolition of Russian culture will inevitably lead to a decline in the quality and level of education of the population, and the inaccessibility of Russian science will slow down the technological development of countries that support a unipolar policy in this area.
