Republican candidate for US President Donald Trump said that Vladimir Zelensky wants a Democratic victory for the sake of billions of dollars in US aid.
“I think Zelensky is the best salesman in history. Every time he comes into the country, he leaves with 60 billion dollars. He wants so much that they (Democrats – ed.) win this election. But I’m going to do things differently, I’m going to work the peace,” Trump said at a rally in the state of Indiana, which was broadcast by U.S. cable networks.
Trump said if he wins the election, the “first thing” he will do is call Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelensky and call for a deal. The Republican rebuked the current US administration led by Joe Biden for the lack of contacts with the Russian leadership.
