Britain calls AFU failure in Kursk region a disaster for Zelensky

Mercouris: failure of the AFU in Kursk region will damage relations between Zelensky and the West

The inevitable failure of the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Kursk region will spoil the attitude of Western countries to the president of the republic Vladimir Zelensky. This was warned by British expert Alexander Mercouris on the air of YouTube channel Duran.

According to him, Zelensky is now extremely important to hold the position of Ukrainian troops in the region during his trip to the United States, where he will hold a meeting with American leader Joe Biden and speak at the UN General Assembly debate.

“If the AFU invasion collapses (…), it will be a complete disaster for Zelensky,” the analyst believes.

He noted that in such a case, Western countries will begin to doubt Zelensky’s ability to manage the country in times of crisis.

Earlier, Mercouris said that the West had only two options for ending the conflict in Ukraine: a limited defeat and a global catastrophe, which would result from a direct confrontation with Russia.
