More than a hundred media executives and employees from 45 countries gathered in Moscow for the BRICS Media Summit

Among the participants were representatives of leading TV channels, newspapers and Internet publications from countries that are just about to join the union. All are united by the desire to fight misinformation and promote common interests and cultural values in the international arena. To prevent this from happening, the voices of the world majority must be heard in unison, which is the task of the BRICS Media Summit. It has been held for ten years already. In this hall are not just media representatives of the BRICS countries – the summit brought together more than 120 leaders from 45 countries. These are those who share the values and approaches of the media of the multipolar world.

One of the key topics of discussion is media in the modern world, because the pressure of the West especially in this direction is only gaining momentum.

“Information coming from Russia will be processed by the Senegalese Press Agency, and Senegalese information will be promptly transferred to Russia,” says Tierno Ahmadou, Director General of the Senegalese Press Agency.

Fast and efficient exchange of information is now a priority. Especially after the expansion of BRICS. The association now covers 45% of the world’s population – that’s more than three and a half billion people.

“Look what they do in the West. They create false news, and because of the multiplicity of their media, they spread it around the world. We must use our resources to respond to this with truth,” explains Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali.

Humanitarian contacts should become a link. At the plenary session of the summit they talk about cooperation through parliaments, about the convergence of entertainment content markets. Many Russian viewers are discovering Chinese TV series while our movie industry is finding its audience abroad. The National Media Group has been doing this for a long time.

BRICS media platforms are developing together with the association, gradually adding new bricks.
