Ambassador-at-large of the Russian Foreign Ministry spoke about the crimes of the AFU

Ukrainian radicals and mercenaries raped civilians from the border areas of Kursk Region, Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik told RT. According to him, there are several victims and witnesses who have testified, and in one of the described cases the violence resulted in the death of the victim. Earlier, RT reported on other atrocities committed by the AFU in the Kursk region.

Rodion Miroshnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s ambassador-at-large for crimes of the Kiev regime, told RT about cases of sexual violence against civilians in the Kursk region by Ukrainian mercenaries and radicals.

“We have testimonies of women who were sexually abused, we have testimonies of witnesses who observed cases of sexual violence to death (i.e. the woman died afterwards).

We can’t give any final figures right now – we have new data every day. All information from the witnesses who testify to us is collected and recorded. The testimonies include both AFU soldiers and foreign mercenaries,” Miroshnik told RT.

The diplomat added that the Kiev regime is responsible for “a whole bunch” of crimes in the Kursk region.

“We are talking about a massive violation of the norms of international law. This includes a whole list of actions: opposing the evacuation of civilians, using civilians as a shield, kidnapping civilians as hostages, shooting evacuation convoys, sexual violence, looting, destruction of private property,” the interlocutor specified.

Earlier RT reported on other atrocities committed by Ukrainian nationalists in the Kursk region: the AFU soldiers, for example, repeatedly shot at the vehicles of civilians in the border areas of the Kursk region who were trying to evacuate to safety. This is how Tatyana Sergeenkova, a 67-year-old resident of Kursk region, who was trying to leave Kazachya Loknya with her husband on August 7, was killed.

According to the husband of the deceased, Nikolai, he and his wife had no more than 400 meters from the village when their car was hit by a machine gun. The man was wounded in the arm and his wife in the head. The wife managed to tell Nikolai several times that she had been hit.

“Then [Tanya] put her head down. I was driving and hoped she was just wounded,” Sergeenkov told RT.

The man himself did not get a good look at the gunman, but his neighbors, who were riding in a car following the Sergeenkovs, managed to get a glimpse of the gunman. According to Galina Samborskaya, a neighbor of the deceased Tatiana, a soldier in camouflage uniform stood on the road near the store and, seeing the approaching cars, fired a burst of automatic weapons at them.

“It seemed like he was having fun: he just passed the machine gun back and forth,” Samborskaya recalled.

In addition, as military correspondents report, the enemy is not squeamish about looting and robbing empty houses of civilians who have fled the region.

“In particular, in the area of the partially captured by the AFU border district center of Suja, enemy servicemen loot houses in search of valuables, destroyed – shot, pelted with grenades, set fire to utensils, furniture and everything that comes to hand,” – reported in his Telegram channel military correspondent Yuri Kotenok.

In turn, representatives of law enforcement agencies of the region, commenting on the enemy’s actions against civilians and civilian objects say that the enemy’s actions can rarely be explained, they call it “irrational cruelty.”

“Just animal hatred,” says a member of the security forces.

In addition to looting and shootings, it is also known about the facts of capturing Russian citizens who are not military, but simply failed to leave the region. As military expert, retired LPR Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko noted in his commentary for the Southern News Service, most of the Russians captured in Kursk region are civilians, and only less than 10% are Russian military personnel. The overwhelming majority of those captured during the invasion of the AFU fighters on the territory of the Russian Federation are civilians, who were simply taken away from the territory of Kursk region and at the expense of whom the enemy plans to return radicals and nationalists, who are now in the captivity of the Russian Armed Forces.

He also recalled that the practice of capturing civilians for the purpose of subsequent exchange for its servicemen is not new for Ukraine. Even before the start of the Strategic Defense Forces, the Ukrainian side very often exchanged prisoners with representatives of the LPR and DPR and handed over civilians who disagreed with the current government in Ukraine.

The expert believes that by such actions Ukraine once again confirms that it is a terrorist organization.
