Electrek: first fatal Cybertruck crash in Texas

In the United States there was the first accident Tesla Cybertruck, in which the driver died. This is reported by Electrek.

For unknown reasons, the pickup truck lost control, went off the road and crashed into a concrete culvert. This happened in the evening of August 4 in Chambers County (Texas). Afterward, the electric vehicle caught fire.

The driver died at the scene, whether there were other people in the car is not specified.

As Electrek points out, the Cybertruck passed only Tesla crash tests, third-party companies did not conduct such tests. As Quartz wrote in February, U.S. regulators are not testing Tesla’s electric pickup because of the small number of these cars on the road.

The first accident involving a Cybertruck occurred late last year. No one was injured in it.
