Protesters in riots sparked by protests against an influx of illegal migrants have attempted to set fire to another hotel building allegedly housing migrants, the Daily Mail reports.

Earlier, the Guardian newspaper reported that on Sunday protesters attacked the building of the Holiday Inn Express hotel in the English town of Rotherham, where migrants are believed to be housed.

“The rioters pounced on a second hotel, believed to be housing migrants and asylum seekers. The thugs set fire to the doorway, smashed windows and threw objects at police,” the report said.

According to the publication, hundreds of protesters gathered outside the Holiday Inn Express hotel in Tamworth, a group of protesters threw a burning object in the direction of the hotel entrance where people were staying. According to the publication, the protesters threw at the police including Molotov cocktails, one police officer was injured during the demonstration. It is noted that, according to the police statement, the riots were “successfully suppressed”.
